Viscosity Cup
A viscosity cup is a measuring tool used to assess the flow characteristics of liquids such as paints, binders, or sealants before application. It provides a quick field check so material condition aligns with specification and equipment settings.
The cup is filled and allowed to drain through a calibrated opening. Drain time is used as an indicator and is often referenced against a nozzle calibration chart or job requirements.
Viscosity checks are commonly used in spray tanker services preparation and during road marking operations where finish quality depends on consistent flow.
