Optical Level Sensor
An optical level sensor detects the presence or level of liquids using light-based sensing. It provides non-contact level detection without moving parts, reducing mechanical wear and routine maintenance demand.
The sensor emits light and monitors changes in reflection or refraction to determine whether material is present at a set point. This approach suits tanks and reservoirs where vibration or contamination may affect float-based devices.
Optical level sensors are commonly used to monitor tanks on sweepers and maintenance vehicles, and may be specified alongside a hydraulic reservoir breather filter and a hydraulic oil temperature sensor on equipment used in industrial site operations.
