Lorry-Mounted Sprayer

A lorry-mounted sprayer is a vehicle-mounted system used to apply liquids such as binders, emulsions, or water across road surfaces during maintenance and treatment works. It is commonly used where large areas need consistent coverage at controlled output rates.

The system typically includes onboard tanks, pumps, and a spray bar with calibrated nozzles. Accurate application depends on stable pump delivery, correct nozzle set-up, and material condition, particularly where emulsions are sensitive to temperature or separation.

Lorry-mounted spraying is often associated with spray tanker services and surface dressing programmes, where outputs are checked against a nozzle calibration chart and supported by material checks such as an emulsion stability test.
