Joint Seal Primer
Joint seal primer is a preparatory coating applied to joints or cracks before sealant or overbanding is applied. It improves bonding between the substrate and the sealing compound, particularly where surface porosity or contamination would otherwise reduce adhesion.
The primer is applied to clean, dry surfaces and allowed to reach the required condition before sealing proceeds. Correct preparation reduces the risk of premature failure and supports longer repair life.
Joint seal primer is widely used within highways and road maintenance services, and may be applied alongside programmes that use spray tanker services and related surface preparation methods such as tack coat.
